This 38 mm O ring (Y7462, 1.5″) is a non-welded metal ring formed from 4 mm wire, with the two ends butted together instead of fused. Welded or Non-Welded?
A non-welded ring has a small split where the wire ends meet. As a result, it is best for light to medium loads, such as decorative straps and small bag hardware. For a strap that carries real weight – for example, a heavy tote strap – choose a welded ring instead, since a strong pull can open a non-welded ring over time. Also, non-welded rings are not recommended for dog collars, leads or harness work.
