Solid or Non-Welded?
A non-welded ring is bent from wire and has a small split. In contrast, this solid ring is cast closed, so it looks cleaner and the strap cannot work its way out. However, cast zinc alloy is made for steady loads, such as bags, belts and trims. It is not recommended for dog collars, leads or harness work, where sudden jerks can crack cast metal.
