Description

Cow split suede is our economy napped leather – butt splits at 2/3 oz. (0.8-1.2 mm), soft and light, sold at a price that makes sense for craft work, classes and production where a premium suede would be wasted. Expect more markings and shade variation than our better splits; that is what the grade buys you. Pieces run 6-8 square feet in Natural, Sand, Taupe, True Navy, Turkish Tile and Sparkling Grape.

Why Choose Cow Split Suede

  • Economy pricing on a real leather suede, not a synthetic
  • Light 2/3 oz. substance that cuts with shears and sews on a domestic machine
  • Generous 6-8 sq. ft. pieces, so there is plenty to cut around the markings
  • Six colours including three that are hard to find in an economy suede
  • Ideal for earrings, jewellery and small goods where offcuts still get used

Best Uses for Cow Split Suede

  • Leather earrings, jewellery and bracelets
  • Moccasins, slippers and soft footwear
  • Small leather goods, pouches and patchwork
  • Craft work, classes and prototypes
  • Linings and backing where the face is hidden

Ordering

Cow split suede is sold by the hide at a flat price, whatever the piece measures – hides run 6-8 square feet, so a larger one costs no more than a smaller one. Being an economy grade, plan the cut around the markings rather than expecting a clear field, and order everything for one project together – shade varies more between these pieces than in our better splits. Suede shows nap direction, so lay all the panels the same way round. For a firmer or finer nap see our Suedes & Nubuck range, or browse all Cowhide. Quantities are limited. For current stock, email Info@Avetcoinc.com or call 818-890-6680.

Disclaimer: These leathers are free of PCP, Azo Pigments, Chrome VI, Formaldehyde, and APEO.
