Description
Pearlized goatskin leather carries a luminous pearl finish laid over a fine goat grain, so the surface shifts between matte and lustrous as the light moves across it rather than flashing like a metallic foil. Goat fiber is tight, which keeps the skin strong for its weight and stops the finish creasing into hard lines. Hides run 5-7 square feet at 3 oz. (1.0-1.2 mm) in nine soft metallic shades: Bone, Beige, Dove, Taupe, Mauve, Pewter, Platinum, Bronze and Charcoal.
Why Choose Pearlized Goatskin Leather
- Soft pearl lustre rather than a hard mirror shine – it reads as luxury, not costume
- Fine natural goat grain still visible through the finish
- Strong for its weight: goat resists tearing where a lambskin of the same substance would give
- Soft-to-medium temper that cuts, folds and stitches cleanly
- Nine shades that sit together as a family, from pale Bone through to Charcoal

Ordering
Pearlized goatskin leather is sold by the hide. A pearl finish shows its direction, so lay matching panels the same way round or they will read as two different shades. Avoid creasing hard against the finish and test adhesives on an offcut, as a coated surface takes glue differently from bare leather. For other shimmer finishes see our Metallic / Foil Leather range, browse the full Goatskin selection, or see our Smooth Leathers for a plain surface. Disclaimer: These leathers are free of PCP, Azo Pigments, Chrome VI, Formaldehyde, and APEO.
