Working With Tuscany Veg Tan Leather
At 1.2 – 1.6 mm this weight sits between a lining leather and a strap leather. It has enough body for belts, straps and shoe components while still cutting and folding cleanly, and it takes tooling and stamping. Because it is undyed it takes dye, stain and finish evenly, and like all vegetable tanned leather it darkens gently with light and handling.
Double shoulders let you cut long straight straps without piecing. Lay out belt and strap runs along the backbone line where the fibre is tightest.
