Description
The Harlem Collection is a milled grain cow leather: a corrected side hide that is drummed until the grain lifts into a soft, even pebble, then chrome dyed. Because the color sits in a way that moves when the surface is worked, the leather can be hand buffed back to give a vintage, lightly distressed effect – or left as it is for a clean, uniform look. Each side runs 20-22 square feet at 1.2-1.4 mm and is stocked in Tan, Brown, Olive, Red and Blue.
Why Choose Harlem Milled Grain Cow Leather
- Milled pebble grain that is even across the hide, so cutting is predictable in a production run
- Buffs back by hand to a vintage, two-tone effect with no chemicals or extra finishing
- Corrected surface hides the natural marks that force you to cut around them
- Useful 1.2-1.4 mm substance: enough body for bags and footwear, still easy to sew
- Large 20-22 sq. ft. sides with consistent, dependable quality batch to batch
Best Uses for Milled Grain Cow Leather
- Handbags, totes, backpacks and luggage
- Shoe and boot uppers, western goods and trim
- Belts, straps, wallets and small goods
- Jackets, vests and apparel panels
- Vintage and distressed-look pieces where the buffing is part of the design
