Description
Lizard embossed cowhide is a vegetable-tanned double shoulder pressed with a fine lizard-scale pattern and finished semi-gloss. The small, tight scales give the look of real lizard skin on a cowhide base – no exotic pricing, larger usable panels, and a leather that is much easier to cut, stitch and edge. Shoulders run 12-14 square feet at 4 oz. (about 1.6 mm), medium temper, in Black and Brown.
Why Choose Lizard Embossed Cowhide
- Sharp, detailed lizard-scale emboss with real relief, not a flat print
- Semi-gloss finish that reads as exotic without looking like patent
- Vegetable tanned, so edges burnish, take edge paint and age well
- Cut from double shoulders – firm, consistent and low stretch
- 4 oz. weight with a medium temper: body for bags and belts, still easy to fold and turn
Best Uses for Lizard Embossed Leather
- Handbags, clutches, wallets and card cases
- Belts, straps, watch bands and cuffs
- Shoe and boot trim, western goods
- Trims, inlays and accent panels
- Costume, stage and film work needing an exotic look

Ordering
Lizard embossed cowhide is sold by the piece, and each one falls within the 12-14 sq. ft. range. The scale pattern has a direction, so cut matching panels the same way for an even look. As a natural product, each shoulder may show small marks, scars or range marks; these are part of genuine leather and are usually easy to cut around. Shoulders ship rolled in a tall box to protect the finish.
