Description
Elephant embossed veg tan leather is a vegetable-tanned double shoulder pressed with the deep, irregular wrinkle of elephant hide – a bold texture with real depth, quite unlike the fine repeat of a snake or lizard emboss. Because the base is veg tanned rather than chrome, it still tools, burnishes and takes edge finish, and the Natural can be dyed or antiqued to any shade you want. Shoulders run 12-14 square feet at 3/4 oz. (1.2-1.6 mm) in Black, Brown and Natural.
Why Choose Elephant Embossed Veg Tan Leather
- Deep, irregular wrinkle with genuine relief – the boldest emboss we carry
- Vegetable tanned, so it burnishes, takes edge paint and ages properly
- Natural is undyed, so it takes dye, antique and oil evenly
- Cut from double shoulders, the firmest part of the hide, with little stretch
- Substantial 3/4 oz. weight for belts, sheaths and structured goods
Best Uses for Elephant Embossed Veg Tan Leather

Ordering
Elephant embossed veg tan leather is sold by the piece, and each one falls within the size range shown. The wrinkle is irregular rather than a strict repeat, so panels cut from different areas will not match exactly – cut matching pieces side by side. An embossed surface flattens under hard pressure, so avoid clamping the face. For other prints see our Embossed Leather range, or browse our Vegetable Tanned Leather and Tooling Leather.
