Description
Alexa is a veg tanned cow leather worked into a square lattice: the pattern is pressed and creased into the surface so it reads as a grid of raised tiles with a faint reptile-scale look to it. The base is a full-grain heifer double shoulder, vegetable tanned and aniline dyed with a soft matte finish, so the grain shows through the pattern. Pieces run 12-14 square feet at 5/6 oz. (2.0-2.4 mm) in Black and Cognac.
Why Choose Veg Tanned Cow Leather
- Pattern creased into the hide itself, not printed on – it catches light and shadow as the piece moves
- Full-grain double shoulder: the firmest part of the hide, with little stretch
- Vegetable tanned, so it burnishes, takes edge finish and ages rather than staying flat
- Aniline dyed with a soft matte finish and no plastic sheen
- Substantial 5/6 oz. weight that stands up in belts, bags and structured goods
Best Uses for Veg Tanned Cow Leather
- Handbags, totes and structured accessories
- Belts, straps and cuffs
- Shoe uppers, boot panels and footwear trim
- Wallets, journal covers and small goods
- Leather craft and decorative panels

Ordering
Veg tanned cow leather in the Alexa pattern is sold by the piece, and each one falls within the size range you choose. The lattice has a direction, so line the squares up the same way on matching panels and cut them from the same area where the pattern runs evenly. For plain hides in the same tannage see our Vegetable Tanned Leather and Belting Leather, other cut and patterned stock under Laser Cut Leather, or browse all Cowhide. For swatches, current stock or volume pricing, email Info@Avetcoinc.com or call 818-890-6680.
