Description

Bubble Grain Lambskin Leather 1.2 mm – 5-7 Sq. Ft.

Bubble grain lambskin gets its texture in the tanning drum, not from an embossing plate. The hides are tumbled until the grain relaxes and draws together into raised, irregular pebbles, ridges and folds, a natural shrunken grain that no press can copy.

Because the texture forms on its own, no two hides look alike, and the grain changes across each hide: deep and pronounced in some areas, softer and flatter in others. That variation is the character of this leather.

Shrinking the grain also makes the leather slightly thicker than a flat lambskin, at about 1.2 mm, and makes the hides look smaller than a smooth skin, because the surface has drawn in on itself. Under the texture it is still lambskin: soft, light and very pliable, with the drape of a garment leather and a little extra body.

Why Choose Bubble Grain Lambskin

  • Natural drum-tumbled texture, not embossed, so the pattern belongs to the leather itself
  • Every hide is one of a kind
  • Soft hand and fluid drape
  • Light catches the raised grain and gives the color real depth

Best Uses

  • Garments, jackets and vests
  • Handbags and small leather goods
  • Linings and trims
  • Gloves and accessories
  • Craft and décor projects
