Description
Tirtil is a perforated cow leather with an unusual pattern: the holes are punched in overlapping rows that read as fish scales across the hide, so it carries a real texture rather than the plain dot grid most perforated leather has. The surface is buffed to a nubuck finish first, soft and dry rather than glossy, which is what lets the scale pattern show. Sides run 20-22 square feet at 3 oz. (1.3-1.4 mm), in Black, Dark Earth, Insignia Blue, Oxblood Red and Tibetan Red.
Why Choose Perforated Cow Leather
- Overlapping fish-scale perforation, not the usual plain dot grid
- Perforation lets air through – the reason it is used in shoe uppers and car seats
- Buffed to a nubuck finish, soft and dry rather than glossy
- Shows a backing colour through the holes, or the skin beneath on a garment
- Large 20-22 sq. ft. sides, so a full panel cuts with the pattern running true
- Five deep colours, including two reds that are hard to find in perforated stock
Best Uses for Perforated Cow Leather
- Shoe uppers, sneakers and summer footwear
- Automotive seating, panels and interiors
- Handbag panels, overlays and accents
- Garment panels, yokes and inserts
- Gloves, hats and ventilated accessories

Ordering
Tirtil perforated leather is sold by the side, and each one falls within the size range shown. The perforation runs in a set direction, so lay matching panels the same way round or the pattern will not line up across a seam. Perforated leather stretches more than solid leather and is weaker along a line of holes, so back panels that carry weight and keep stitch lines clear of the perforation where you can. For cut-through patterns see our Laser Cut range, or browse our Suedes & Nubuck and all Cowhide. For swatches, current stock or volume pricing, email Info@Avetcoinc.com or call 818-890-6680.
