Description
Giraffe print cowhide is a hair-on side hide silk screened with the large, irregular plate pattern of a giraffe coat, in chestnut over the hide’s own unbleached coat. Because it is screened onto genuine hair rather than a flat surface, the pattern shifts and catches the light as the hide moves. Sides run 18-20 square feet at 3 oz. (1.2-1.4 mm).

Hair lies in one direction, so cut from the back with a blade rather than shears and lay all the panels of a project the same way round. Every hide is screened individually, so the scale and placement of the plates vary from side to side – order everything for one project together when the pattern has to match.
