Description
This lambskin garment leather is a light, full-grain black hide at 1 oz. – thin enough to fall and gather like cloth, with the soft hand and fine grain that makes lambskin the standard for leather clothing. It is semi-vegetable tanned, which gives an even, consistent black across the hide with no shading between skins. Whole hides run 5-7 square feet.
Why Choose Lambskin Garment Leather
- Light 1 oz. substance with real drape – it moves with the body instead of standing away from it
- Full-grain surface with the fine, close grain lambskin is known for
- Even, consistent black from hide to hide – useful on multi-panel garments
- Skives thin and sews on a domestic machine without special needles
- Whole hides, so panels can be cut without piecing

Ordering
Lambskin garment leather is sold by the hide. At 1 oz. this is a true garment and lining weight – for a bag or a belt that has to hold its shape, step up to a heavier skin. Lambskin has some natural give, so back any panel that must stay square, and cut all the pieces of one garment from hides of the same batch. For other weights and finishes browse our full Lambskin range, the rest of our Garment Leather, Lining Leather, or our Smooth Leathers.
