Chrome free lambskin leather is tanned without any chrome salts – vegetable tanned instead – which matters when the finished piece sits against skin all day or has to meet a chrome-free specification. It is soft, light and supple like any garment lambskin, but the tannage is the reason to buy it. Hides run 7-11 square feet at 2/3 oz. (0.8-1.2 mm) in Gardenia, a soft off-white.
