Description
Florence is a full aniline lambskin: a full-grain hide colored with transparent aniline dyes and drum dyed all the way through, with no pigment coat laid over the surface. That means the natural grain, the growth marks and the depth of the skin stay visible, a cut edge shows color rather than a pale core, and the leather ages instead of wearing off. Hides run 7-8 square feet at 2 oz. (0.6-0.7 mm) and are stocked in Black, Chocolate, Rustic Brown and Tan.

Because there is no pigment coat to even things out, shade and grain vary from hide to hide – that variation is what an aniline finish looks like, not a fault – so order all of one color together when a project has to match.
