Craft grade leather in genuine cowhide, offered at economy pricing. These hides carry natural markings, or small imperfections from the tanning process. The leather itself is good quality, but these are economy hides with real faults, including large holes. They are priced for makers who cut small pieces and can work around a damaged area.

Our stock changes constantly. The colors shown in the dropdown are what is in the warehouse right now, and new colors appear as we go through stock. Check back often.

These hides are sold as craft grade. Please expect the following, as none of it qualifies as a defect on this listing:

• Small dark speckles in the grain. These come from the tanning process and are a natural characteristic of light and pastel dyed leather.
• Healed scars, wrinkles, growth marks and range marks from the animal’s life
• Holes, cuts and torn sections, some of them large. This is economy grade leather and the faults are significant, not cosmetic

These hides are sold as is, at a price that reflects the faults. Please review all photos carefully before ordering and contact us with any questions before you purchase. If you need a hide with no holes, please order from our first quality cowhide instead.

Best uses

At 0.8 – 1.0 mm this craft grade leather is a soft garment and lining weight hide. It drapes and sews beautifully, but it is not a structural leather — for belts, holsters or stiff wallet bodies you will want a heavier weight.
