Description
Reversible lambskin leather is finished on both faces: smooth full grain on one side, a soft nubuck nap on the other, with no raw flesh side to hide. It is drum dyed all the way through, so both faces and every cut edge carry the same color. That means a garment can be worn either way round, a collar or cuff can turn back and still look finished, and an unlined bag needs no lining at all. Hides run 5-7 square feet at 2/3 oz. (0.8-1.0 mm) in Black, Castlerock, Dark Earth and Olive Night.
Why Choose Reversible Lambskin Leather
- Two usable faces – full grain one side, nubuck the other, from a single hide
- Drum dyed through, so edges, folds and turnbacks all show color rather than a pale core
- No lining needed on unlined garments and bags, which saves weight and a construction step
- Soft, supple temper with real drape at a light 2/3 oz. substance
- Four deep, wearable shades that work together across a collection
Best Uses for Reversible Lambskin Leather
- Reversible jackets, vests and shirts
- Collars, cuffs, plackets and turnback detail
- Unlined bags, clutches and pouches
- Skirts, panels and soft garment work
- Gloves, hats and lightweight accessories

Ordering
Reversible lambskin leather is sold by the hide. Decide which face is the outside before cutting, because the nubuck side takes marks more readily than the grain side and shows nap direction – lay all the panels the same way round if that face will be seen. Seams are visible from both sides on a reversible garment, so plan the construction for it. Shade varies slightly between hides; order all of one color together when a project has to match.
