Description
Lambskin nubuck is buffed on the grain side rather than the flesh side, which is what separates it from a suede split: it keeps the strength of the full-grain skin and gains a very short, velvety nap on top. The hand is closer to peach skin than to suede – soft and dry, with none of the shagginess of an open nap. Hides run 5-6 square feet at 2 oz., stocked in Black, Doe, Cappuccino, French Roast, Chestnut, Castlerock, Cabernet and Navy Blue.
Why Choose Lambskin Nubuck Leather
- Buffed on the grain side, so it is stronger than a suede split of the same weight
- Very short velvet nap – a soft matte surface rather than a fuzzy one
- Light 2 oz. substance with real drape for garment work
- Skives thin and sews on a domestic machine
- Eight muted shades that sit together well in one collection
Best Uses for Lambskin Nubuck Leather
- Jackets, garments, panels and trim

Ordering
Lambskin nubuck leather is sold by the hide. Nubuck shows nap direction and takes marks from handling, so work with clean hands and lay all the panels of one project the same way round. Water spots a nubuck surface, so test any protector on an offcut first. Order all of one color together when a project has to match. For other napped stock see our Suedes & Nubuck range, browse the full Lambskin selection, or see our Garment Leather.
