EVA Foam is a soft yet durable polymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate commonly used in various applications, such as in sports equipment, crafts, cosplay, costumes, and flooring. The material is widely used to manufacture shoes and platforms, as it is soft without being a sponge. EVA foam is easy to work with, comes in various colors and thicknesses, and both sides are smooth. Layering is easy for individuals with more massive designs and detailed work. EVA cuts, shapes, heats, and sands very well for Cosplay costuming and crafting desired designs.

Shore Hardness Guide:

Shore hardness is the measurement of the density of the foam. It measures how hard a material is and how much force it can take. Shore hardness is tested using a durometer. The durometer is pressed into the foam and makes a mark on the foam in varying depths. The test result depends on the type of durometer you use based on the specific material you’re measuring. This guide illustrates Shore A, B, and C to help you understand the difference between material hardness and Shore measurements.

Grade Meaning:

Grade A, B, and C define the EVA’s quality.

• Grade A has a brighter color than B & C, a smooth surface with very few bubbles, and better elasticity.

• Grade B is part of recycled plastic; the surface is smooth, but it has more bubbles than Grade A, and it has some elasticity.

• Grade C is manufactured with 100% recycled material, and the surface is smooth; it has more bubbles than Grade A and is denser. This foam will offer you a multitude of possibilities for your project.

*Please note Pinholes on an Eva foam are burst bubbles that reach the surface.

Different uses:

Eva Craft Foams:

85-90kg/m³ Density foams 2mm thickness “craft foams” – Use this foam for your armor or your costumes in fabric. This is a thin and smooth, low-density foam. It is most useful to make edges and detailed work.

Eva High-Density Foams 20-65°Hardness 2-25mm:

These foams are smooth and dense and can be used for Cosplay, such as armor, weapons, or scenery. You can create unique pieces in sculpting with the Dremel tool and thermoformed with a heat gun. These foams can be cut easily with a utility knife.

Eva High-Density Foams 70-75°Hardness 20-40mm:

These foams are smooth and very dense. It can be used for footwear platforms, soundproofing, and flooring. Due to their thickness, cutting these foams requires Circular Saw Machine.
